Spirit at Work

This weekend I was witness to a jaw-dropping sign of our interconnectedness that I am so excited to share with you ...

Last night Ty and I showed the "Messages of Hope" documentary at Unity of North Atlanta.  Two women I had never met drove from our home town in The Villages all the way to Atlanta to see the film and to attend my workshops the next day.  When the film concluded, I walked over to thank them for coming.  They both appeared noticeably shaken.  When I learned why, I shared their astonishment.

They told me that a couple of weeks ago on Palm Sunday they decided to go for a Sunday drive. They were going down the highway to nowhere in particular when they saw the sign for The Florida National Cemetery at Bushnell, a good 45 minutes south of The Villages.  One suggested to the other that they visit the cemetery.  It seemed a strange thing to do on their day off, but she clearly felt prompted to do so.

They drove into the cemetery and wandered around, all the time following an inner nudge that one of them felt.  They wandered far to the back of the cemetery to an area off the beaten path and deliberately stopped in front of one particular gravestone.  They both remembered it well because of the unusual spelling of the last name:  Bjornvick.

Imagine their surprise after driving all day to see the film based on my book when the opening scene showed the Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell!  What may have seemed like a coincidence moved into the category of a "God Wink" when at the end of the film, the story returned to the location of the opening scene and the camera zoomed in on the very gravestone the women had been led to.

James Bjornvick is the step-father of the producer of the Messages of Hope documentary, Chris Lavelle.  James passed to the other side and came to me very clearly in a reading with Chris's mother, Ann Lavelle.  It was the irrefutable evidence in her reading that prompted Ann to suggest to Chris that he produce a film based on my unexpected transition from U.S. Navy Commander to evidential medium.  That reading with Ann is featured in the documentary.

After hearing that these two women who felt compelled to drive over 400 miles to attend this movie event had also been led directly to James' gravesite, I called Ann Lavelle.   She was dumbfounded and told me that it was impossible that anyone could have ended up "by accident" at that spot. "James' headstone is not on a road," she said.  "It's way in the back in a little alcove next to the woods with a great big live oak tree over it."

I saw the women again the next morning at my workshop.  They confirmed that this was indeed the spot to which they had been drawn and that they had spent some time sitting under that big oak tree.

What impresses me most about this clear interaction with higher consciousness is that the one woman listened to her inner guidance and acted on it.  Her friend did not question, "Why are we doing this?"  She understood the need to follow that inner urging and she willingly went along.  The result was a profound synchronicity that will no doubt lead many who hear this story to pay greater attention to that still, small voice inside.  When we do so, miracles happen.

What is a miracle?  A miracle is an effect at the human level of awareness from a cause at an expanded non-physical level that most  humans aren't normally aware of.   Thank you James Bjornvick and our other helpers in spirit for this wonderful reminder that there is more than one reality, but only One Mind, and we are all part of That.

Just Because It's in Print ...

In addition to sharing news, there is a secondary reason I added a blog to my website.  It's a matter of self defense.  You see, some people think that every word in my husband's blog (www.LifeAsTySeesIt.com) is true.  Don't you believe it!  Today's post is a case in point.  His comments about "Ms. Drill Instructor" are not based in reality, which is why Life as Ty Sees It is often a bit different than Life as Suzanne Sees It!  The truth is that I can barely keep up with Mr. "Fixit and Fixit Now."  When I dare to protest some of his usage of poetic license regarding my character and actions, the response is always the same:  "It's my blog!"  (This is always followed by laughter from both of us, so please read this with the humor that is intended).  Thanks to all of you who have signed up to follow Ty's blog by email as we travel this summer. The adventure has begun, and it's great having you along for the ride.

Making Good Come of Tragedy

One of my clients is dealing with the loss of her 16-year-old son who tragically took his own life as the result of a rash and irreversible decision. She shared with me today what his friends have done to make something good come of something so devastating.  She wrote, “The fact that these kids were inspired enough and loved him enough to put so much work into creating a non-profit that has gone on to do so much good in his name is astounding to us.  They are only 16 and 17 years old! They've been written up in the newspaper and have won awards locally for their work. The organization has grown exponentially and they want to boilerplate it and roll it out to other schools to keep the goodness flowing. They've asked us to help with that which, of course, we are thrilled to do.”  Click here to read an inspiring article about these great kids.  My client’s son was one of them.

Special Announcement for those in Central Florida

I am opening to the public my monthly session with Sanaya this coming Sunday, April 13th at Unity of The Villages in Summerfield, FL.  We will begin at 7 PM.  Seating is first-come, first-seated.  It is always a love-filled, evening with the tangible presence of Spirit.  I hope to see you there if you're in the area.

What is Love?

A follower on Facebook asked me for a definition of Love.  Here is one Sanaya provided that I share at the beginning of my "Let Your Spirit SOAR Workshop":

What is Love?

Your Eskimos have many words for snow.  You have one word for love, with many meanings.  It is not something you look outside of yourself for, for that would be ever-changing.  Love never dies, never wavers, never changes.  It is the most sublime of feelings the human can experience, for love is the highest vibration.  It must be experienced to know it.  You, as spirit, know it when you feel it, for love is who and what you are.  You, as a temporary human, long for it, for love is the connection between human and spirit.

What is spiritual awakening and illumination, but the realization of the self as love through the experience of it.  All vibrates along a spectrum.  Bliss is the highest vibration of love.  All of life is about growing in understanding and expression of the highest vibrations.  When you feel true spiritual love, you know it.  If you question what is true spiritual love, you have not yet experienced it.  Practice expressing what you presently know as love in every moment, beginning with the most basic acts of kindness.  In so doing, you continually raise your own vibration and capacity to feel love.  In other words, you awaken the spirit.

Be that which you seek and awaken to the full realization of what love is.
***
This woman also asked how to love someone you dislike.  My friend, you simply look past the outer shell to the perfect spirit inside.  There will always be those with whom we have energetic dissonance.  Using your consciousness, you rise above your earthly vibrations and align with your Higher Self, which is Love.  There we are all One.

Divine Protection

Saved by an angel this morning ... Ty and I are out of town, so we went for a run in new territory.  Within the first five minutes I clearly sensed that we would encounter a loose dog.  My initial thought was to stop running, but then I chose differently.  I called on my Team Upstairs and asked them to put a protective shield around me.  I held my arms out as I ran and literally drew a sphere of protection.  At first we ran through a residential area, but no dogs ran out.  Thirty minutes into the run we were headed back through an area with no houses.  There was no reason for dogs to be where we were, but we looked to the left and 30 feet away was a pit bull lying by some trees, alone and loose.  I felt surprise, but (quite surprisingly) no fear.  Ty and I shared a glance and we just kept running.  Here's the miraculous part.  It was as if the dog didn't even see us.  His eyes were open, but as we ran past him, he made no reaction at all.  I raised my arms and gave a great big thank you to my unseen helpers.

Film Festival!

Embedded image permalinkWow! The "Messages of Hope" documentary based on my story and book by the same name has been selected for the Toronto Beaches Film Festival to be held this June 27th.  I must admit it still feels strange to think of people I don't know seeing me and my family on film ... but that IS what happens when you sit in front of a camera, Suzanne!  Ha!  Congrats to producer Chris Lavelle.

Ty and I are really looking forward to our summer tour.  One of our stops is a return visit to Unity on the North Shore, located just outside of Chicago.  I just learned that the church is using my book, “Messages of Hope,” and the Messages of Hope documentary for their book and movie study group this month in anticipation of my visit.  How cool is that!  They’ve done a wonderful job of promoting it on their website:  http://www.unityns.org/explore-reality-beyond-physical-realm  In fact, I just received a lengthy email from a gentleman in the group who is enjoying this unexpected “side street” on his life’s path.  From the sound of his email, the man is quite sensitive, himself.  Me thinks his path may change even more than he was aware!

April Fools

I apologize for the picture that accompanies Sanaya Says today (www.SanayaSays.com).  See the April 1st post – or don’t, if it means you’ll blow your diet.  (In which case you might want to read my first book, “Conquer Your Cravings.”)

In any case, happy April!  This day brings fond memories of my childhood, when my mother, affectionately known around The Villages as “Ruthie,” used to really get into April Fool’s Day.  One year she outdid herself.  She put Vaseline on the bathroom doorknobs and sewed together the bottom edges of the towel hanging on my towel rack so that when I got out of the shower it just went round and round like one of those cloth towels in a public restroom.  I thought I had made it through the day, until I went to get ready for bed.  I slipped my nightgown over my head and discovered that she had also sewn the sleeves shut!  She was (and still is) a real card.  It’s no wonder everyone loves her.  Just like Sanaya advises us to do today, she went the extra mile to let us kids know we were loved.  Thanks, Mom, I love you.

Ty and I agreed not to play any tricks on each other today.  For those of you who’ve read his blog, you can understand why I’m not quite sure I can trust him!  Happy April to all of you.  May today and every day be filled with an extra pinch of love.
